CVD diamond (Lab Grown Diamond) has high elastic modulus and low mass density. It is the fastest acoustic propagation materials, and longitudinal wave velocity is as high as 18000 m/s, which is three times more than common diaphragm material AI and Ti. So CVD diamond is an ideal material to making high fidelity acoustics devices. Although the sound propagation speed of material Be is not low, the toxicity of Be has greatly limited its application.
